Liam Gallagher Scores Fifth UK No 1 Solo Album
Liam Gallagher has secured his fifth solo Number 1 on the UK Official Albums Chart with his new live album, Knebworth 22.
A live recording of his much-hyped return last year to the site of one of Oasis’s biggest gigs, Knebworth 22 joins Liam’s previous solo chart-toppers As You Were (2017), Why Me? Why Not (2019), MTV Unplugged (2020) and C’mon You Know (2022). Liam also had eight Number 1 albums as part of Oasis.

Knebworth 22 is the biggest album of the week on vinyl, topping the Official Vinyl Albums Chart, and the UK’s most downloaded album of the last seven days.
Gallagher told the Official Charts Company website: “This Number 1 Album is for all the fans who made Knebworth happen. Eternally grateful, hope to see you soon LGx”
Knebworth 22 documents Gallagher’s two-night residency at the Hertfordshire site in June 2022, the same place that his former band had famously played 26 years earlier. Across the two nights, 170,000 people saw Gallagher play the venue.
Gallagher said of the release: “So we recorded the Knebworth gigs we did last year. We all sound Biblical, turn it up ENJOY, LGx.”
Knebworth 22 is available on standard and deluxe CDs, black double-vinyl and sun yellow double-vinyl. A striking olive and black marble double-vinyl edition is also available exclusively from Liam’s official store.
Last week, Gallagher told fans to expect new music from him next year.
Gallagher gave himself a break from Twitter for quite some time, but when returning to the social media platform he wasted no time in answering some burning questions from his fans. Quizzed by one follower if they could expect new music in 2024, he replied: “Yeah lots n lots”.
