Blur Reissue ‘Modern Life Is Rubbish’ On Vinyl For National Album Day
Blur will reissue a 30th anniversary edition of their 1993 album Modern Life Is Rubbish for this year’s National Album Day on 14 October.

The new edition comes pressed across two transparent orange 140g vinyl LPs and is presented in a gatefold sleeve with printed inners.

The release follows an extremely busy time for Blur, who had their seventh UK No 1 album back in July with The Ballad Of Darren and a string of rapturously received tour dates, including two nights at London’s Wembley Arena.
In a recent interview with Dork, guitarist Graham Coxon and bassist Alex James discussed the excitement around the latest album and shows. Yeah, it has surprised me!” laughed Graham. “It’s made me think, well, where the hell were you last time? Maybe I shouldn’t have been amazed, but it does feel like there’s a massively more renewed interest in the band than there was a few years ago. It might be because the 90s are meant to be in, or guitar bands are meant to be in. I know younger musicians are listening to Blur a lot more. Maybe it’s ignited culturally in peoples’ brains more than before.”
“I think it surprises all of us,” added Alex. “You never really know until you’ve put a show on sale, but eight years is half a generation. You don’t know whether anyone’s even going to buy a ticket. But last time, people would say, ‘My mum and dad like Blur’, and now it’s ‘My kids love Blur’. So there was this sense that maybe the songs had found a new audience.”
